Accessibility
ManRADS is committed to making this website usable by as many people as possible, regardless of ability or the technology they use.
Our commitment
As a project associated with a UK public institution and funded by UK government money, we treat accessibility as a core part of building this site, not an afterthought.
Conformance
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 at level AA. This statement will be updated with a formal conformance assessment once the site build is complete.
Measures in place
- Semantic HTML with a logical heading structure and landmark regions.
- A skip link to main content, and visible keyboard focus on every interactive element.
- Colour contrast that meets the WCAG AA thresholds for text and interface elements.
- Text alternatives for images that carry meaning.
- Full keyboard operation, including the navigation menu.
- Respect for the reduced-motion preference set in the visitor’s system.
- Layout that remains usable from small mobile screens up to wide desktops.
Known limitations
Some sections are still being populated with content and imagery supplied by partner institutions. Where partner material is added, we check that images carry appropriate text alternatives before publication.
Feedback
If you find any part of this site difficult to use, please tell us through the contact page. We treat accessibility feedback as a priority and will respond as quickly as we can.
This statement is a working draft. It will be finalised, with a preparation date and review schedule, once the accessibility audit of the completed site is done.
